Sark – one of the Channel Islands – is located in the English Channel and belongs to Guernsey. All the land that lies within this island is owned by one person who leases out the plots. Since Sark is a rather small state, until 2008 only about forty companies were opened there.

Sark is under British jurisdiction. This is a customs area for the EU. Traveling around the island with a car is prohibited. The exception is granted only to people with physical disabilities.

Sark is an offshore zone, therefore, it is a jurisdiction that attracts entrepreneurs. However, there are no ready-made companies on Sark that could be re-registered with a new owner. There is also no legislation governing the corporate sphere. This is where the greatest difficulty lies.

Taxation and company documents

Of all the Channel Islands, Sark is the quietest and most inconspicuous. Some even consider it part of another island called Guernsey. Sark does not require the payment of income tax. The only tax levied on this island is the wealth tax. However, the amount of this tax cannot exceed 3.5 thousand pounds.

  • Requirements for a local office: none.
  • Mandatory presence of a local registered agent: no.
  • Minimum capital requirements: none.
  • Issue of shares: not permitted.
  • One director is required as a minimum.
  • Complete absence of residency requirements.
  • No reporting or auditing required.

In general, the conditions for doing business on Sark Island are quite favorable. After the company goes through the registration procedure, the following documents will be provided to its owner:

  • certificate, which is the actual confirmation of registration;
  • constituent agreement;
  • Enterprise status;
  • list of persons on the board of directors;
  • list of shareholders;
  • company stamp.
