In Danish jurisdiction, the gambling industry is nationalized and is subject to control by a special body, namely the Gambling Authority, which is a separate division of the Ministry of Justice. The same body is also responsible for issuing gambling licenses and regulating the entire gaming sector in general.
There are two types of licenses:
- Betting license
- Online casino license
Terms: 3-6 months
Basic information on obtaining a gambling license in Denmark:
- The license is issued for 5 years.
- Taxation in Denmark for casinos – 28% of GGR (Gross Gambling Revenue). All tax returns must be submitted to the regulator on a monthly basis.
Registered capital: from the point of view of the law, there are no requirements for the share capital. Nevertheless, in practice, before issuing a license, the regulator looks at the activities, budget, planned turnover, etc., and sets the authorized capital individually for each company.
