A license to carry out operations with cryptocurrency assets in Croatia is issued by a separate body that also regulates the turnover of cryptocurrencies in general. The Croatian government is interested in making the cryptocurrency industry as clear and safe as possible for the consumer. For this, appropriate measures are being taken, in particular, acts on the control of cryptocurrencies are being formed, special requirements are put forward for obtaining licenses, and so on.
License type: crypto exchange and custody service provider (crypto exchange and custody service provider).
This license gives permission for the following activities:
- Cryptocurrency exchange services (exchange of cryptocurrency for cryptocurrency, cryptocurrency for fiat and fiat for cryptocurrency)
- Custody services (storage of client funds in crypto-assets)
Requirements for obtaining a cryptocurrency license in Croatia.
- The minimum share capital is about 2,700 EUR.
- There are no restrictions on turnover in the license.
Taxation: for a legal entity – 18%, if the income is less than 7.5 million HRK (approximately 1 million EUR) – 10%.
Terms: from 2 to 3 months. The procedure is completely remote.
The cost of obtaining a cryptocurrency license in Croatia includes:
- Company registration.
- Legal address in Croatia for 1 year.
- Authorization in HANFA to obtain a cryptocurrency license.
- Development of high-level documents on AML/CFT, including written AML policy.
- Development of a landing page for the company for the purpose of authorization.
